Garden Tidy

Timebank member Phil asked for help with his garden. Due to his disability, he is unable to work at ground level. He needed a hedge trimmed back, grass cut, beds weeded and an extra bed for plants that he had purchased.

Timebankers Kevin and John set about doing these tasks for Phil. John was a big help with tidying the raised beds and giving Phil lots of his knowledge on planting and what types of plants are best to put in the beds. Outreach Worker Sally helped with the weeding of the patio area. Phil’s light and pond pump wasn’t working so later that day Timebanker Wayne went to Phil’s house and took the pond pump apart and removed the debris and pond weed that had got into the pump. Phil was very grateful to have his pond light working again.

Phil said, “Now that I have had a number of hours help from Timebank, I need to give something back. I can give help and support with English and Maths tuition, but people will need to come to me unless their house is wheelchair friendly”.
