Carole Hickling 1957 – 2022
It is with immense sadness to say that our Timebank friend and Trustee Carole Hickling passed away on Sunday 25th September following a brief illness.
Carole tirelessly ran the Plymouth Community Befriending Consortium and was involved in many other community initiatives in the city including being a founding member of the original Social Isolation Forum.
As a Trustee of Timebank South West Carole gave up her time to support our work and staff and she most recently provided all the catering for our 10-year celebration held in April this year, which everyone appreciated.
Timebank’s Chair Jo Bowden said, “Carol was a very lovely lady who would do anything to help those that needed help. She had a passion for helping the elderly. I remember her telling me about how she’d been cooking and delivering meals to those who needed it during the various lockdowns. Carol will be sadly missed by all.”
Timebank Trustee Jo Bussell who has known Carole for over 20 years said of her friend, “Carole was full of life and energy, and she wanted to help as many people as she could.”
Carole will be very much missed as a friend, Trustee, and champion of community action and our thoughts go out to her friends and family.
