Knitting hats & sharing skills in Devonport

Devonport members have recently come across this wonderful knitted baker boy cap, after being inspired by the fabric version on the Great British Sewing Bee, Rachel and Caroline really wanted one, but due to health conditions and skill levels they couldn’t make one themselves.

In steps Jenny with her magic fingers offering to knit the hats for them. The hat in the picture is Rachels, she chose a beautiful autumnal colour palette which looked great when knitted up.

Caroline chose a navy blue wool and when finished that hat looked great too.

Both Rachel and Caroline were super happy with their natty knits and very impressed with Jenny’s knitting skills. Jenny enjoyed knitting them and was pleased to be able to share her skills to help her fellow members. After seeing the finished product Caroline was keen to learn how to cable knit herself and so Jenny sat with her and taught her how to do it herself!

“The hats are rather easy to kit, when you know how. I enjoy knitting things for others and these look lovely” Jenny.

10 credit hours were earned and another 2 hours were exchanged through this skills share. It is so lovely to see our members giving their time and learning from each other.
