Justine Cheffers

Vice Chair

I am a keen gardener and I enjoy living by the sea where I take long coastal walks whenever I can. I am a happy mum of two which keeps me busy, but I regularly do yoga which I find relaxing. I believe strongly in the principles behind Timebanking where everyone has something to offer and all skills are equal. I love the idea of informal volunteering to engage and energise communities.

I have a degree in Social Policy and Administration BSC (hons) from University of Bath and have worked in social housing for over 20 years. I have been working in Plymouth since 2005 as a Community Development Worker for LiveWest (formally known as Devon Cornwall Housing). My work focuses on Barne Barton and Devonport.

LiveWest do a lot of partnership work with Timebank SW through its Timebanking Hubs including Favour 4 Favour based in Barne Barton. Favour 4 Favour was nominated for and won by public vote a National Housing Federation Community Impact Awards for best community project. LiveWest also commissioned Timebank South West to advise and support the setting up of a Timebank in Gwavs Penzance where we also have social housing properties.
