Jo Bussell

Trustee

“I am a qualified Community Development worker with over 30 years of experience in different settings, including neighbourhood work in Devonport.

I was a Community Education development worker for 6 years working in Honicknowle. My most recent role was as a Health and Social Care Commissioning Officer with Plymouth City Council up until 2015 when I took early retirement as I could no longer monitor and Commission services for some of our most vulnerable members of our society via very hard working service providers ,when central government had cut our Local Health and Social care budget by 40% It went against all my beliefs and values. I am now unwaged but work on a wide range of voluntary projects, including benefits advice, assisting claimants with application forms and appeals. I have been a Trustee for Honicknowle Commnet Ltd for the last 20 years. In 2018  I also became a Trustee for POP (Plymouth Octopus Project)

I love socialising and enjoy travel, I have one daughter and 2 gorgeous (but hectic!) Grandsons who I look after at least one day a week. My Liverpudlian Scouse humour always keeps me going!”
